Happy Passover, Chag Sameach!
This is a recipe from my son’s friend’s family. I am re-posting this recipe because it is by far the most requested Passover dessert by my family! This is the easiest chocolate covered matzah recipe and will certainly steal the show (Seder)!! This would also make a great host/hostess gift to bring to the Seder. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
4 unsalted matzahs
½ c. butter/or pareve margarine
½ c. brown sugar
9oz. (3/4 bag) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Toasted chopped nuts: pecans or walnuts (optional)
Method:
- Preheat oven to 350˚. Grease a large cookie sheet. Lay matzahs on sheet (break to fit).
- Over medium heat, bring butter/margarine and sugar to boil. Pour mixture over matzahs, and spread evenly. Bake for 10-15 minutes at 350˚, until topping is golden brown.
- Remove matzahs from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips in even layer. Working quickly, spread melting chips over matzahs. Sprinkle with nuts if desired. Freeze for 3 hours. Break into 2-3 inch pieces to serve.
