Nehama’s Green Beans

This is Nehama’s recipe, so easy, healthy and a crowd pleaser. It will be on my table for the Rosh Hashanah festive meal. 

12 oz. fresh green beans (in a package, pre-washed)

1 14oz. can petite diced tomatoes (with juice)

1/2 large onion, sliced

Olive oil

1 clove garlic, chopped or minced

1 Tbls. tomato paste

1.5 tsp. sugar

1/4 cup white wine

1 tsp. salt

3/4 tsp. garlic powder

1/2 cup water

  1. Place 1-2 Tbls. olive oil in a medium size pan. Heat over medium high heat, add onion and garlic; lower heat to medium and cook for about 5 minutes sweating the onions.
  2. Add all the other ingredients and cook for 1 hour on low heat.

Tastes even better the next day!
